MLA Forklifts began trading in 1980 where it was established by Japanese trading company, T.Chatani & Co. Ltd in agreement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Our branches initially opened in New South Wales and Victoria, with another opening in Queensland two years later.
For the last 31 years MLA have been industry leaders in forklift sales; including both new and used forklifts and have also proven ourselves in forklift rental. Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth have all seen the opening of branches in the last two decades, with a distributor in the Northern Territory, allowing for a more reliant and professional forklift service nationwide.
As a service company, our main business is the importation, preparation, sales, hire, service and supply of spare parts for a complete range of forklifts. The MLA Distribution network is Australia-wide, with offices in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, and Victoria.

| 1998 | Air conditioning division ceases operations. |
| 2000 | Total Forklift Storage appointed as Tasmanian Distributor. |
| 2001 | MLA wins Pacific National Tender for Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. |
| 2002 | MLA wins BHP (BlueScope) Contract. |

Mitsubishi Electric Truck is introduced. New Mitsubishi Grendia is launched. |
| 2004 | MLA is appointed as a distributor for Mitsubishi Engines. |
| 2005 | MLA wins Smorgon Steel Contract. |
| 2006 | MLA wins Pacific National Tender for Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. |
| 2007 | BlueScope Steel extends contract. |
| 2008 | HQ in NSW moves to Wetherill Park. |
| 2010 | Celebrating 30 Years of service, in both new and used forklifts. |
