MLA Holdings has established and will maintain a Quality and Safety Management System that complies with the requirements of the International and Australian Standard AS/NZSISO9001-2008. MLA was originally certified in 1996 and achieved recertification in April 2008. We have adopted a continual improvement philosophy to ensure our customers receive quality material handling solutions suited to their business requirements. From gas, diesel, petrol and electric battery forklifts, through to genuine parts, servicing and fleet management, we offer a complete solution to the highest standard.
Our Quality system is an integrated on line management system that satisfies quality, safety and environmental management to the relevant Australian standards. This system is an integral part of the culture at MLA, as we strive for continuous improvement, industry-best practice and consistency of service, policy and procedures across all MLA branches, Australia-wide.
MLA's OH&S system complies with AS/NZS 4801. A significant component of our OH&S system is documenting and communicating all areas of OH&S accountability for all managers, supervisors, employees, contractors and visitors. Work-related injuries and illnesses are mitigated by MLA's hazard and risk assessment program. All work attracts a ""Task Safety Analysis".
All new equipment; such as gas forklifts and battery electric forklifts, delivered by MLA is independently risk assessed. Site safety management plans are completed for all new customers before commencement of the rental contract. Our approach to managing the health, safety and welfare of our employees has been developed to minimise workplace risk, and workplace incidents, and to give effect to our commitment to the safety of our employees and other persons who may be affected by our work. MLA has a proven reputation as having the best safety culture in the industry.
MLA is committed to reducing pollution, conserving resources, reducing waste and minimising any adverse effects associated with our service and operation of gas, diesel, petrol and electric battery forklifts. MLA's Environment system complies with ISO 14001. Our culture is to achieve continued improvement in environmental management performance. We ensure all employees, subcontractors and suppliers are environmentally aware and have the necessary competencies to meet all environmental objectives. We ensure that all employees and subcontractors working on our customer sites comply with local environmental requirements.
All MLA service vans carry a spill kit in the event of a leak or spillage of contaminating fluids including oils, hydraulic fluids, battery acid, coolants and fuel. This kit comprises an absorbent barrier and powder. In the case of an oil change in petrol, diesel or gas forklifts, waste oil is collected and returned to the MLA workshop where it is stored in a holding tank and emptied by an approved EPA contractor. Following all maintenance services, all replaced filters are returned to the workshop and stored in a recyclable drum for removal by ERS (Environmental Recovery Service).
MLA prides itself on being the industry leader in materials handling across Australia. We offer a comprehensive range of gas, diesel, petrol and battery electric forklifts from the world's leading brands and as an exclusive Australian Distributor for the Vulcan range of heavy forklifts and container handlers, we can pass on our experience to our customers.
In addition to short and long-term hire or purchase, we offer a number of services to ensure your IC and electric battery forklifts remain in the best condition. From parts and servicing through to fleet management, it is our commitment to deliver quality solutions that meet business' requirements.
